Hapstar Wins Award for Best Wellbeing Initiative 2025

Hapstar, the platform for mental health and wellbeing, was named the winner of the “Best Wellbeing Initiative” for the use of its customised AI platform with its client, the East of England Ambulance Service.
The PPMA Award (Public People Management Association) was in recognition of the 1,000+ employees relying on Hapstar to understand and feedback on their wellbeing, with the wellbeing team at EEAST using the platform signals to understand employee needs and to intervene – in some cases, saving lives.
At the East of England Ambulance Service Trust (EEAST), the wellbeing team supports staff across six counties, operating a 24/7 service. Despite their efforts, addressing wellbeing needs across such a vast region remained a significant challenge.
To tackle this, EEAST introduced an innovative wellbeing initiative: Time for Me, powered by Hapstar. This is a customised version of the Hapstar online platform for mental health and wellbeing, designed specifically to meet the needs of EEAST.
The “Time for Me” initiative achieved significant engagement, with 1,000 employees and volunteers contributing over 80,000 wellbeing data points and voluntarily completing more than 2,000 assessments. Crucially, the platform facilitated vital crisis intervention, with 95 individuals seeking urgent help and over 80 sharing sensitive concerns anonymously.
The data-driven insights from this engagement have become an intrinsic part of every wellbeing and people-related process at EEAST – informing health and safety strategies, identifying areas of stress risk within the Trust, and shaping targeted interventions such as financial wellbeing sessions and anxiety management workshops. These insights continue to help prevent the escalation of workplace crises and support individuals facing trauma and broader mental health challenges.
“We are incredibly honoured by this recognition from the PPMA, especially their insightful words about the impact of our joint initiative with the East of England Ambulance Service,” said Daniel Cordwell, Head of Partnerships at Hapstar. “This award validates our shared commitment to prioritising the wellbeing of those who dedicate themselves to caring for others. We are proud to partner with EEAST in fostering a culture where their people truly feel valued and supported.”
